The Life Balance Foundation is a charitable organization granted section 501c(3) status by the IRS in 2017. The mission of the Foundation is to provide assistance to individuals as they face the challenge of balancing the demands of their employment with the needs of their family. The first program, the Good Start Program, provides financial support to families expecting the birth of a child and the amount of time granted for paid maternity leave to the working mother is less than the full amount of unpaid leave which is currently federally mandated at twelve weeks. There is ample evidence to conclude that those initial twelve weeks at home between a mother and child are crucial for the long-term physical and mental well-being of both. If the Foundation can help these families get off a to a good start at the birth of a child, there is an enhanced possibility that the family will be able to manage these priorities more effectively over the long-run.
The goal of the Foundation is to keep expenses low such that the lion’s share of donations go to our grant recipients.
